Impressions: This is a great, no frills, lightweight daypack. The colors are vibrant, workmanship is great. The pack holds a lot of gear, like your extra layers, snacks, and other 10 Essentials. This bag is perfect when a cinch-bag is not quite big enough, but a full backpack seems overkill. The straps are contoured and fit on my shoulders well. The backpack has a hip strap and a sternum strap for added stability on the trail. The hip strap works perfectly, but while the sternum strap works really well for my teenage son, it is located in an awkward location for women. Three inches higher, and it would be great.
Overall, it’s a neat and unique pack for a daytrip. There is no flap to cover the opening at the top, so a raincover would be necessary in wet conditions to protect the pack from flooding. I really like the idea that these packs are made from colorful fabric scraps leftover during production of Cotopaxi’s other products.
