Race Preview: 2016 Buck Mountain Mudslinger Trail Run on February 27th

If you like trails and love to get muddy, check out the 6th Annual Buck Mountain Mudslinger Trail Run in Silverton on Saturday, February 27th at 9AM. The 6.5 mile course takes advantage of the single and double track equestrian trails around the Silver Falls Howard Creek Horse area. Starting in the Silver Falls State Park (20024 Silver Falls Highway), the 6.5 mile loop runs on Buck Mountain Loop and Smith Creek trails and includes some serious elevation to add to the fun in the mud.

Register online for $25 or race morning for $40. The day-use parking fee, refreshments and run are all included. There will be prizes at the finish line for the top 3 overall male and female finishers and top 3 in each age group. Random prizes will also be given away from the event sponsors. If costumes are your thing, dress up as a Cowboy or Cowgirl and try to win the costume contest.

Held at Oregon’s Largest State Park, this event is always a fun, muddy mess. Well-behaved pets are welcome. Packet pick-up and day-of-registration begin at 7:30AM. Carpooling is suggested, as well as a change of clothes for the drive home. A great deal and a fun run, this Wild West themed event never disappoints.
