Race Preview: 2016 Sunriver Run for Chocolate 5k

The fifth annual Sunriver Run for Chocolate 5K Run/Walk  is scheduled for February 13th, 2016 and benefits the Bethlehem Inn in Bend, Oregon.February is the month for chocolate at Sunriver Resort, and after you finish your run you can proudly display your race bib and gain entry into the Sunriver Chocolate Showcase after the race at 11a.

We had a blogger out a few years ago, and they had this to say:
The course was exactly as I expected, smooth paths that included views of the golf course and Mt. Bachelor, as well as sections of the river that were covered in ice. It was simply gorgeous. With a 10AM start, there was enough time for it to warm up a bit. As promised there was chocolate at the finish line, a Goody’s truffle that was almost too cute to eat. Almost. This might be one run that I consumed more calories than I burned, but worth every one.
This scenic and flat 5K course will start in front of the Sunriver Main Lodge and then connect over to asphalt bike paths passing by the Sunriver Airport, Stables and Marina, before returning to the finish line at the back of the lodge. It is likely to be a chilly event, so bring some extra clothes and/or your significant other to warm you up afterwards. It’s the perfect event to sneak into a romantic getaway.
