Race Preview: 2015 Foot Traffic Holiday Half Marathon on December 13th

The Foot Traffic Holiday Half Marathon and 5k will run on Sunday, December 13th from the Adidas campus in Portland. This is a unique opportunity to get in the holiday spirit and enjoy the season. The Foot Traffic Half Marathon is more than just another run, with costumes, carolers lining the course and holiday spirit in the air. Christmas, Hanukkah or whatever holiday you celebrate, it will be represented and the party continues at the finish line. Participants will enjoy hearty soup, oatmeal, hot cocoa, egg nog and seasonal beer (for those 21 and over) at the post-race party.

Enjoy the grub and stay warm after the race, since the party will take place in the Adidas gym and courtyard. Even better, get some post-race pictures with gym lit up and decorated and a giant Christmas tree, all waiting for an Instagram shot. A DJ will be playing a variety of holiday melodies, from classic holiday tunes to more contemporary songs. Deschutes Brewery and Dave’s Killer Bread will be there, along with vendors with all sorts of running related items to peruse.

The half marathon is USATF certified and starts/finishes under the pedestrian bridge on Greenley Avenue at the Adidas N. America campus. An out and back, the course runs through the Overlook neighborhood and along scenic Willamette Boulevard. It includes views of the University of Portland campus, downtown Portland, the St. Johns Bridge and Pier Park. A mostly flat course, the Holiday Half Marathon is a great opportunity to set a PR and there’s plenty to look at along the way, for people who just want to take their time and enjoy the views.

Half Marathon finishers will receive a festive medal and they guarantee it will make you smile.
