The first annual Islanders Run United 5K is coming to Swan Island on October 17. This race, put on by United Way, is a fundraising event for 3 local organizations. Proceeds will go to Doernbecher Children’s Hospital, npGreenway, and Community Cycling Center.
The mission of Islanders Run United is to “improve family health by supporting wellness, activity and access to health care. Strengthen family bonds by encouraging shared experiences. Providing quality support when additional help is needed.”
Islanders Run United is a family friendly event. The 5K is for both runners and walkers, and kids activities will be available. There will be a UPS Open House at the start/finish area with a mock delivery course for kids to run, walk, or ride.
