Portland Marathon Clinic Training Run for September 26, 2015

This week the Portland Marathon Clinic is in full taper mode. After months of 16- and 20-mile runs, this Saturday’s run is only 8 miles. Resist the temptation to run extra, or to run faster than usual – the trained pace group leaders will keep you on track and help you prepare for a successful race by running the right pace and distance.

Because the run is only 8 miles, there are not any aid stations on course; you will need to bring your own hydration and nutrition. Check out the course here, and note you’ll only be running out four miles before turning back (the map shows a 10-mile course).

The course winds through Tualatin along the lower-traffic Tualatin Road and Hazelbrook Road. There is a short segment along 99W, but it is safe as you are not running right on the shoulder.

Where: Lululemon at Bridgeport Village, 7381 SW Bridgeport Road in Tigard

What time: The run starts at 8a. Be there no later than 7:45

This Saturday (Sept. 26) is the last PMC run for the 2015 season, so if you want to say “thank you” to your pace group leaders or the PMC coaches and organizers, this would be a great weekend to do so! They are all volunteers and deserve recognition and thanks for all of their hard work. Thank you PMC … you provide a valuable service to runners in our community!

About Kelly Barten (1152 Articles)
I started the Run Oregon blog in February 2007, because I felt like running in Oregon and SW Washington deserved more positive coverage. I also wanted to level the playing field so that small, non-profit races could compete with big events; and to support LOCAL race organizers. I'm a Creighton Bluejay (undergrad) and an Oregon Duck (Sports Marketing MBA), and I live in Tigard with my husband and two kids. My "real job" is working for an incredibly awesome math textbook company doing marketing and production.
