Rainshadow Running puts on some exceptional ultra distance events. The Oregon Coast 50k and 30k events, taking place on October 10 and 11, 2015, sold out within 2 days. So, although your can't get into the 2015 event, I wanted to highlight it for you so you could get it on your radar for 2016 and hopefully secure a spot! This is a newer ultra occurring on the Oregon Coast in Yachats. The first year of the event was in 2014, and that sold out in less than two days! The 50k, which takes place this year on Saturday, October 10th, 2015, starts in Waldport, Oregon, with the finish line being The Adobe Resort in Yachats. For the first ~6 miles, you will be running on the beach! After exiting the beach at Yachats, you will run on trails - and a touch of paved road - to the gorgeous Cape Perpetua. Once at Cape Perpetua, the 50k loop is approximately 9 miles, and then you will proceed back to Yachats to the finish line. There are cut-off times for this event, with a time limit of 8 hours.

Sunday, October 11th, 2015 is when the 30k event will take place. The start and finish line are at The Adobe Resort in Yachats. No beach running for the 30k, but participants will run on trails and a tad bit of paved road, heading toward Cape Perpetua, similar to the 50k participants. For the 30k, the loop at Cape Perpetua is about 6 miles, and then you will head back to the finish line in Yachats. Cut-offs exist for the 30k as well, with a time limit of 6 hours.

Rainshadow Running is known for having to-die-for finish line festivities. For the Oregon Coast 50k and 30k, the finish line will feature a variety of beverages, including local beer. Post race food includes limitless wood-fired pizza, salads, fruit, veggies, chips, dips, pies, cookies, etc. etc. etc. And, your crew, spectators, family members, etc., can purchase a finish line bracelet in advance so they may partake, too!

Again, the 2015 Oregon Coast 50k and 30k have sold out. But, definitely take a closer look at this one and get it on your radar for 2016! It looks fantastic!
