Boones Ferry Primary school is hosting their 15th annual fun run and 6th annual 5K fundraiser. 100% of funds raised is used for arts and technology programs to benefit students at BFPS. It’s not too late to get in on the fun, in fact, the early bird registration is in affect until Sept. 25th.
Besides helping a great cause and having a fun event, participants will receive a tech race shirt and goodie bag, water and snacks at the event and chances for some raffle prizes. Awards are also issued to the first three men and women to complete the 5K.
The program will have a lot of fun incentives to raise some buzz for families with students at BFPS. Students who raise money through pledges can earn special “toe tokens”, special prizes for the classroom who garners the most participation as well as prizes for the class who raises the most money. The event will also host the 2nd annual “Dragonfly Dash” coordinated by the school’s PE teachers to help encourage fitness at recess time, build stamina for race day and have fun by offering “sneaker tokens” the students can earn dependent on the number of laps they complete around the track.
The community is invited to participate in the 5K run and walk taking place on October 2nd, starting at 12pm. Start and finish will take place at Wood Middle School track in Wilsonville and the course will take participants through the beautiful Graham Oaks nature trail.
