Race Preview: Inaugural BeerMi 1 Mile Run in Lebanon on September 20, 2015

It's no surprise that I love beer (follow me on Untappd!) nearly as much as I love running. So any event that has "beer" in the title, I'm automatically intrigued. The city of Lebanon sits southeast of Salem, and actually puts on some solid running events given their size. They are in the process of opening the city's first brewery (Conversion Brewing) and have a sweet taphouse as well (Growler Cafe). So the Inaugural BeerMi 1 Mile Run, which combines beer with running AND supporting a great cause and you can count me in.

Obviously this isn’t one of those races you will PR (though if you haven’t done a Beer Mile yet, you will automatically PR!), nor is there a real race course to delve into. It’s not a “true” beer mile in the sense of needing to drink every quarter mile (and subsequently feeling terrible with each loop), but instead is more of a chug run you will down a pint and do an entire mile thereafter (Start at Growler Cafe, head south down 2nd Ave, circle around the Boys the Girls Club, and finish back at the Cafe).  

Afterwords, each participant will receive 2 12 ounce brews by Calapooia Brewing, as well as receive a race shirt and Growler Cafe gear. Check out the event on Facebook.
