The fun will be at Joe Dancer park, easily accessible from highway 18. The course is an out and back in the industrial and rural area just north of the park and gun time is 8 am. The event is chip timed by Huber Timing and I help map the course. It is in the flat and fast category, with a mild climb as you exit the park that will definitely assist your finishing kick on thebway back in. The top 3 male and female finishers will be recognized, as well as the top overall masters. In a unique bonus suggested by one of the organizers, any runner that beat me will get their registration fee refunded. There is a two minute handicap on my finishing time for women.
Pre registration is $25 up until the 20th, and day of event is $30. $5 will cover entry to the kids half mile run and a supervised play area while you run. 20% of the proceeds will be split amongst the McMinnville Police Department, Fire Department, and Yamhill County Sheriffs Office. There will be snacks and drinks provided after the event.
So, avoid the crowds on August 29th and head over to McMinnville for a fun, small town run. The views will be great and proceeds will be going to a good place. Check in starts at 7 and the kids will be taken care of by licensed professionals while you run. This is definitely a family friendly event that will have a great atmosphere.
