Mt Hood Uphill Challenge

Sure, you have tracked your turns at Meadows and showed of your vertical feet covered on the slopes, but have you ever wanted to run UP those slopes? This weekend you will get that chance! The Uphill Challenge takes place on Saturday, August 22nd, and it is one event in a series of summer activities at Mt Hood Meadows ski resort. 

The race starts in the MHM main parking lot and runs up trails on the slopes and ends at the top of the Stadium chairlift. The race distance comes to 1.2 miles but boasts a 621ft elevation gain. The top finishing man and woman will each receive a price money of $120. Stick around after the race for the celebratory barbecue  on the patio.

Online registration is open until August 20th, but you can still register at the event (for an additional $5 charge). Spectators can buy a roundtrip Stadium lift ticket for $10 to watch their runner conquer the mountain.

The Uphill Challenge details:
When: Saturday, August 22nd, 10am start
Where: Mt Hood Meadows ski resort
What: 1.2 mile trail race with 621 ft elevation gain
Registration: Online here or day of event starting at 8am
Registration cost: $20 (Adults ages 20 and over), $10 (youth ages 19 and under)
Registration includes: Uphill challenge entry, ski lift ride down the mountain, post-race BBQ
