Race Preview: 2015 Eugene Brews Cruise 9/7/15 (Eugene, Ore.)

Are you, like me, in a 'competition' to participate in as many races as you possibly can? Sometimes even running in two races in one day? Well, Labor Day Weekend will afford you another racing day to get in some running! On Monday, September 7, 2015 at 12-noon, join me in Eugene for the Eugene Brews Cruise 5k. This event will start and finish at Hop Valley Brewing, in the popular brew-district of Eugene's Whitaker Neighborhood. The 5k course will take participants along a path not common in the racing scene; so, the views will be new! You will get to travel through Eugene's revived Whitaker District, and you will be right near Oakshire Brewing, Hop Valley Brewing (start/finish), and Ninkasi Brewing Company. Before and/or after the race, you will definitely be able to visit all of these breweries (check individual location hours) as they are a comfortable walking distance apart. 

Awards will be presented to the top three overall male and female finishers. Additionally, the top three finishers in each age group will receive awards. And how cool is this – all participants will be eligible to win one of three pairs of HOKA One One running shoes. If you haven’t checked out my review of the HOKA One One’s, you ought to – they are great!

The post race events will take place at Hop Valley Brewing – and there will be beer for those 21+ (bring your ID). Some Hop Valley and Level 32 Racing pint glasses will also be up for grabs. Children are allowed on the Hop Valley Brewing premises, so feel free to bring the whole family.

Head Start of Lane County is the beneficiary of the Eugene Brews Cruise 5k. I hope you will join me at the event, and help support the wonderful organization of Head Start of Lane County. And – lots of brewery visiting opportunities, too!
