We love local events, but we also love and cover national events as well. Please take note that this is a national race corporation with events across the country. We have competed in many national events and had a blast. However, over the years, there have sometimes been complications and cancellations. We hope that does not happen and for this race to live up to its billing.
Run wicked. Drink wine. Rock out. The Wicked Wind Run is a national running company heading our way to Dayton on August 22nd, so get your trail shoes and wine glasses ready. “Whether you are a wine lover, avid runner or just plain love a good night out, this is the race for you.”
The 1K walk and wine tasting and the 5K run or jog will be held on The Stoller Family Estate Vineyard. If you’d like to do both the 5K and the 1K tasting, registration options do include the option to do both. Race start times are staggered with the 5K starting at 5:00pm and the 1K Wicked Tasting Walk starting 90 minutes later (however 5K participants are required to finish in 60 minutes or better). Be sure to be prepared for a trail run. No stroller or pets allowed and the minimum age for the 5K is 16 years old and minimum age requirement for the 1K is 21 years old.
Along with being prepared for the picturesque trails, bring out your costumes and crazy get ups for the costume contest but also bring at least $10 for parking and perhaps a little extra spending money for the food trucks and additional wine at the after party. 1K Wicked Tasters will have 4 tasting opportunities and the 5K finishers will receive a finish line wine. Are you going as a “designated driver” instead of a designated drinker? Those abstaining will have a special bracelet that entitles them to free soda and water. Participants are encouraged to bring their picnic blankets or folding chairs to enjoy the music and post race environment. Awards are available for the top finishers in the 5K.
