Race Preview: 2015 Crater Lake Rim Runs [8/8/15]

Crater Lake Rim Runs
Crater Lake Runner
Crater Lake National Park, situated in Southern Oregon on the crest of the Cascade Mountain range, is well-known for being home to the deepest lake in the United States and the seventh deepest in the world. The 1,943 foot deep lake lies inside a caldera, or volcanic basin, and was created when the 12,000 foot high Mount Mazama collapsed 7,700 year ago following a large eruption. Because the lake is filled almost entirely by snowfall, it is one of the clearest lakes in the world.
Crater Lake Lodge
Not only are the views breathtaking, but there is something for the non runners in your life as well. An educational center, restaurants, shopping, camping, and of course the beautiful Crater Lake Lodge! This would be a great event to make into a mini vacation and really enjoy all that Southern Oregon has to offer!
