Race preview: 2015 Circle the Bay 30K – Coos Bay, Oregon

This year marks the 42nd annual running of the Circle the Bay 30K race series and while 30K might seem like a REALLY long distance, the race organizers have graciously turned this one into a 3 person relay! In fact, this race can be tackled as an individual walker or runner or as a 3 person relay walking or running team...choices, choices!

From the South Coast Running Club website, the course takes off from Ferry Road Park in North Bend, travels along the Coos Bay waterfront and then finishes back at Ferry Road Park. There are plenty of aid stations along the way. The first 10K is relatively flat, the second 10K is rolling and the last 10K is for the hill lover! The race is very inexpensive and while the trip south might cost you a little gas money, the area is beautiful and worth sticking around for an extra day if you have the chance.

When: Saturday, August 1st. 6:30 start time for the walkers. 8:00 start time for the runners.
