Race Preview: 2015 Bowerman Track Club 5k on August 15th
‘The mission of the Achon Uganda Children’s Fund is to improve quality of life in rural Northern Uganda through access to health care and education, improvements to infrastructure, exposure to opportunities in sport, and means of self-sufficiency. AUCF undertakes all projects in partnership with native Ugandans, with the goal of transitioning to a state of self-sustainability and independence from outside assistance.’
The cause itself makes this a must- do event, but if that isn’t convincing enough, Competitor Magazine recommends it. The Bowerman 5k made their list of the 7 Must Do 5ks in the United States. The course will be new this year since Nike recently expanded their campus, but it’ll be flat, a single loop and almost guaranteed to be fast.
Register online for $30 and then show up at the Nike World Headquarters in Beaverton on August 15th. The Bowerman 5k is a fast run followed with entertainment and organized by a group that knows about running. It would make a great family run or perfect opportunity for a PR, ideal for the novice runner as well as the seasoned athlete. A summer night race for a great cause and a fun excuse to get out and run, check out why Competitor Magazine listed it as a must-do race.
