Race Preview: 2015 Eagle Point Fourth of July Fun Run

Have (running) plans for the Fourth of July?  If you happen to be in Southern Oregon, check out the Eagle Point 1 mile or 5K run/walk “fun run” in Eagle Point, Oregon.  The event is just one part of the area’s celebration for that day, so you might also be interested in some of the other scheduled events as well, including breakfast hosted by Boy Scouts at the local Grange hall,  a parade, entertainment at the Bob Moore Park, fireworks…. and that’s not all!  An intermission of sky divers before the final firework finale.

For the morning’s race, refreshments will be available at the Bob Moore Park adjacent to the start/finish area.  The start and finish for both the 1 mile and the 5k run/walk will be held on Main Street “in front of the flag poles”.  I’m not familiar with this area, but it sounds like a charming, small town event.  Another clue to the small town feel, is any event that offers a phone number for the race director as an alternative for picking up your race packet the morning of the event.
