Jason was a driven and caring young man and worked hard in everything he did. He served as a Firefighter/Paramedic before his diagnosis and inspired those around him before his diagnosis, during his fight and this run helps keep that memory alive. Portions of the proceeds will provide scholarships for individuals pursuing a career in firefighting through Umpqua Community College. In addition, this year some of the proceeds will go to the Tom Weiss Memorial Fund. Tom Weiss was a mentor and friend of Jason Ohm, encouraged him to become a firefighter and took him on one last flight just weeks before he passed away. Sadly, Tom Weiss was in a tragic mid-air collision in 2015 and a memorial fund has been set up in his name. Finally, a portion of the proceeds will go to the Community Cancer Center. This in-house service is designed to address patient needs, which includes everything from providing radiation and chemotherapy treatments to counseling.
Registration will be available beginning at 7AM on Saturday, May 30th and costs $35. A limited number of sweatshirts and tank tops will be available for purchase as well. All donations are tax deductible and a tax identification number is available upon request.
