Race Preview: 2015 Run Mama Run!

Celebrate all of the Mamas in our lives together at Adoption Mosaic’s 7th annual Run Mama Run! Mother’s Day run/walk.   The 10K run or 5K walk/run is a stroller friendly event to be held at Portland’s Mt. Tabor Park.  The untimed fun run is to benefit Adoption Mosaic.  Adoption Mosaic is a Portland-based non-profit organization that focuses on providing adoptive families with a wide array of much-needed services and programming to help adoptive families thrive.

This is a fun event for the whole family with lots of activities to entertain the kids including kids’ yoga and a station to make a finisher’s medal for mom when she crosses the finish line.  A playground is close by for the kiddos to burn off any energy while waiting to cheer in their runner.  Each participant will receive a race shirt (not guaranteed after April 15th), complimentary pair of socks donated by Sock it to Me, breakfast of fruit and pastries, coffee, tea and hot cocoa.  There is also a raffle, so you’ll want to make sure to pick up some raffle tickets with your registration!  Raffle tickets are $5 each or a pack of 5 for $20.  Registration for the 5K and 10K is $49 and free for children to participate in the 1/4 mile kids’ dash.

Race start and finish is near the Volcano Crater Amphitheater, which is also conveniently located near parking and bathroom shelter.

If you haven’t ran at Mt. Tabor before, it is a hilly, but fun one.  Despite the challenges running on a dormant volcano can provide, it also provides a beautiful atmosphere running under the canopy of trees in the park.  Dress in layers as it can be a little chilly in the shade of the trees.  The 10K course will be a double loop of the 5K course (which is pictured above).
