Race Preview: 2015 ORRC Hagg Lake Runs

The Hagg Lake Runs return on May 2 with a 5K, 10K, and 10.5 mile option.  Runners and walkers will experience the beauty of Hagg Lake Park and the “gentle hills” on paved trails around the lake. The 5K and 10K options are out and back courses, while the 10.5 mile course is a full loop around Hagg Lake.

Hagg Lake is about 6 miles south of Forest Grove and approximately 45 minutes from downtown Portland.  This escape from city running will be well worth the drive once you see the scenery and smell that fresh air!  To top it off, you don’t have to worry about paying for parking since the parking pass is included in your registration fee.

This Oregon Road Runners Club (ORRC) race is part of their 10K and 5K series.  Registration for the 5K series is still open, if you’d like to add a few other 5Ks to your race calendar for a bargain price.

Plaques will be given to overall winners and ribbons will be presented, 5 deep, to age group winners.  All participants will receive custom socks and a personal pie in celebration of the very first Hagg Lake Run in 1975. That’s 40 years running for this race!  How cool is that?
