Race Preview: Eagles Flight 5K/10K

Located on 99W between the cities of Monmouth and Corvallis, Adair Village is more than just a wide spot in the road. This part of the Willamette Valley is particularly scenic, and rather easy to get to. The race location is the Santiam Christian School, and it is timed by Eclectic Edge Racing, who are very good at what they do. Saturday, April 18th is race day, offering a one mile kids run and the standard 5K and 10K distances for the grownups.

You can register online, the earlier, the better. From now until April 17th, the 10K is $35, the 5K $25, and the kids run $15. The cut off to get a shirt is the 10th. Entry includes a drawstring bag and a cotton shirt, but you can order a tech shirt for an additional $15. Extra cotton event shirts are $10 a piece. Race day registrations are an additional $5 for the 5K/10K.

The 10K starts at 8:30, with the 5K fifteen minutes later. The Little Eagles one mile is scheduled for 10 am. Refreshments, music and awards are slated to happen after the run, so this event has all the bases covered. There are multiple packet pickup options, the day before at the high school office from 8:15 to 3:30 and then from 4 to 8 at Sports Authority in Corvallis. Race day pickup begins at 7 am.

This looks like another great spring run for the race calendar, and includes the standard features of a promising small town run. Easy to find, without an early start time, it may be a good reason to head towards Corvallis on April 18th. As usual, beating the next price bump is key, to get the best bang for your buck.
