Race Preview: Inaugural Dirty Leprechaun 5k (Tualatin)

If you've missed the My Muddy Valentine 5k mud and obstacle race on February 14th, or if you've participated and loved it, Terrapin Events is giving you another chance at the course in the inaugural Dirty Leprechaun 5k on Saturday, March 14th. The best thing about mud runs this time of year is that there is no reason to cart in water to make obstacles extra muddy, the winter rains will take care of that!

The race takes place at Lee’s Farms in Tualatin, and it is the perfect place for this kind of race course. Farm access roads that wind through forests and around plowed fields turn mucky and sticky, the Muddy Crawl Over and Under will get you nice and dirty right off the bat and test your wall climbing skills all at once. The hay wall will scratch up your knees (I recommend tight fitting capris and knee socks), the Chug and Run will rehydrate you half way through, the Sisyphus will make you question why beach balls need heavy weights in them, the Shoe Snatcher may just keep your sneakers, and if you think the Dirrrty Hog Wash gets you clean, you’re mistaken. At the finish you’ll get drinks and food, there are big bonfires to keep you warm, and you can even purchase access to warm showers.

For an idea of what to expect, read Annette‘s and Brian‘s recaps of this year’s My Muddy Valentine.
