Race Preview: 2014 Portland Santa Speedo Run THIS SATURDAY

There is a running joke around the Run Oregon blogger Facebook page that I enjoy wearing Speedos. To be honest, I don’t even remember how this joke got started, but it sure has stuck around and is brought up with regularity with varying shades of hilariousness. So color me unsurprised when I got tagged and emailed by at least 4 bloggers when the 2014 Portland Santa Speedo Run was noticed.

This event is not timed, but looks to be a bunch of fun – a sort of party group run. Traffic is not stopped, but that just leaves more time to dance and do jumping jacks in skivvies on the street corners.

100% of the profits entry will go towards the Ethiopia Project, which fits those in need with footwear in numerous towns throughout Ethiopia. Feel free to bring old shoes to donate as well.

Your fee includes:

  • 4 craft beers,
  • 1 celebratory shot,
  • food catered by North 45
  • Speedo Run Cowbell

Drinks from Deschutes are good from 11am-2pm  and food will be served at 12pm -2pm. Join the event via Facebook to let everyone know you are nuts.
