The 11th Annual Jingle Bells Run in Eugene is set for December 6th. The Jingle Bells Run is a fun holiday theme run/walk with a 12K, 8K, 5K and 400 meter fun run for kids 10 and under called the Jingle Bell Jaunt. It also offers a late start, giving participants a chance to sleep in, a little holiday bonus. All proceeds benefit the Parkside Community Preschool. The Jingle Bells Run starts and finishes at Maurie Jacobs Park on Fir Lane in Eugene and should have some beautiful views of the Willamette River along this scenic course. New this year, they will have a Post Event Pint at Ninkasi Brewing Taste Room, for participants 21 and older.
From Maurie Jacobs Park, the 12K is mostly a combination of the 8K and 5K, with a slightly shorter out and back. The 8K follows the bike paths along the Willamette River, crosses the Owosso and Greenway Bridges and finishes back at the park. The 5K stays on the south side of the river and all distances are comprised of loops. Registration is available online or in person at the Eugene Running Company (116 Oakway Center) through Friday, December 5th at 12PM. Registration will also be available at the Sports Authority in Valley River Center from 5PM-7PM on December 5th as well as race day beginning at 10:30AM. Adults are $25 through December 5th and $30 on race day. Participants under 17 and over 60 deduct $5 and the Jingle Bell Jaunt is free for kids under 10. Add a technical shirt for an additional $10.
