Race Preview: 2015 First Run by AA Sports

What better way to ring in the New Year than with some pre race festivities and then a run (or walk) starting at the stroke of midnight?

Join me on Wednesday, December 31st for the First Run 2015 at the World Trade Center (121 SW Salmon St.) for the fun and festivities starting at 10:00pm.   Participants can stay warm with music, dancing and exploring the expo while getting ready for the midnight start for the 10K run and 5K walk/run.

The course will take participants along the waterfront (on both the West and East Esplanades) and across the Steel and Hawthorne Bridges with promising oppertunities for spectacular nighttime views of the lights of Portland reflected in the water.  The 10K course is a double-loop of the 5K course.

Food & beverages, including Deschutes Brewery beer, music & dancing with a DJ, a winter photo op with “snow” and costumes, contests and prizes…. so put on your creative thinking cap and think up a fun costume to ring in the New Year.
