2014 Participant Tee
The 5th annual Holiday Half and 5k will take place on Sunday, December 13th. This event sells out every year, so if you still want to get in, be quick! Online registration is projected to close on Monday, November 24th.
I have run the half marathon before, and it was one of my favorite winter races. The course is mostly flat and beautiful, so even after my training had tapered down a lot during November and December, I was able to pull of an acceptable time. The costumed runners are fun to watch, and music and carolers keep you entertained along the way.

This year I’m looking forward to the shorter 5k distance, which won’t earn me the beautiful finisher’s medal, but is closer match to my current level of preparedness. The post party will offer soup, coffee, beer and music, and the participant shirt is just beautiful!
