Race Preview: 2014 Turkey Stuffer 5K

The Turkey Stuffer 5K is a community tradition for the the entire family.  Come out and enjoy exercising together while raising money to benefit kids.  This race will benefit Willamalane’s free Summer Playground Program for kids for all ages.

Course map is available to view here.  Run or walk the flat course that will start outside of Splash! at Lively Park near 61st and Thurston and the race course will continue on Thurston, looping through the beautiful and quiet surrounding residential neighborhood and passing near Thurston Park before runners make their way back to the park and pass the start area for a finish closer to Splash!

After the race, spend some time at the indoor waterpark from 9-11:30 am at no additional charge.

There are no dogs allowed and strollers are welcome. Children in strollers do not need to register, as they will not need a bib number.

Registration options can include a race shirt or without.  Race shirts for the adults are long sleeve tech material and youth shirts are long sleeve cotton.  Deadline for shirts is Nov. 20th and tech shirts seem to run a little large.

Packet Pick-up:  There is NO race day packet pickup.  Please pick up your race packet from 12:00 pm-7:00 pm on Tues. Nov. 25th  or on Wed. November 25  at Willamalane Center. (250 S 32nd St. Springfield, OR).

Robin grew up as a couch potato and did everything she could to get out of exercise, until one day a good friend would not stop talking about this fun 5k race she was doing. Finally Robin got off the couch and trained for this "fun" race using C25K (couch to 5k program). After crossing that first finish line, she kept going and became a "runner". After losing 80 lbs, gaining health, a love of being active and setting a healthy example for her husband and kids, she thinks she'll stick with this whole "running thing".
