Race Preview: I Like Pie, Thanksgiving Day Run

Pie lovers in Central Oregon, rejoice!  The annual I Like Pie Thanksgiving Day Run is once again scheduled for Thanksgiving Day in Bend. This FootZone event is a fundraiser for NeighborImpact. All proceeds from this donation-only run will go toward this local charity.  I Like Pie fun run is open to all ages, abilities, and paces.  Runners and walkers are welcome to participate in the 2K, 5K, 10K, or they can create their own distance on this un-timed out and back course which travels along the 1st Street River Trail.

Participants are asked, but not required, to bring 5 pounds of food for Neighbor Impact and a $5 donation. Last year this event collected 5,500 pounds of food and they are looking to top that amazing number in 2014!

Participants are also encouraged to bring pie to share.  After the run participants can enjoy dessert before their Thanksgiving dinner.  You may also choose to enter your pie in the pie baking contest, where prizes will be awarded for the top 3 pies in both the “traditional” and “open” pie categories.

If you like pie and are looking for a fun, casual Thanksgiving Day event – I Like Pie is the run for you. What a great way to enjoy Thanksgiving morning while giving back to the community.
