Race Preview: Purple Stride 5k Portland

The Portland chapter of the Purple Stride 5k takes place on Saturday, November 1st at the World Trade Center in downtown Portland. This annual event raises fund and awareness for the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network. 

Registration will open at 7:30 am, and participants will be able to register and pick up their walk packet. Arrive early to participate in the pre-stride Zumba warm-up. Opening ceremonies start at 9 am, and the walk will take off at 9:20 am. The walk route will take stride participants walk north along the waterfront, crossing the Steel Bridge, South on the Eastside Esplanade and back across the Hawthorne Bridge to the finish on Salmon Street.

After the walk, stay for music, refreshments, and activities. Voodoo Donuts will be on site selling donuts and will donate 15% of sales back to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.

This event is family friendly, so bring your kids, parents, other relatives and friends. Strollers are welcome on the course, but unfortunately dogs will have to stay at home.
