Foot Traffic’s Running and Walking events for October 2014

Foot Traffic's NE Location at 4020 NE Fremont.

Foot Traffic, a locally owned store that offers everything a runner or walker could want, hosts a number of community events and group runs from their three Portland metro locations. Here is the schedule for October - and keep an eye on the Foot Traffic facebook page for updates and special perks for joining them.
All group runs are FREE and open to all paces. All of the runs start at 6p; arrive by 5:45p to check in and get the scoop on the route.
Please note the Mizuno group runs on October 9th and 15th are part of a nation-wide push for 150 group runs at local running stores ... be a part of this huge program!

Tuesday, October 7th: Hoka Group run at our North East Fremont location @ 6 pm
4020 NE Fremont, Portland, 97212
Distance is 4-6 miles and all paces are welcome. Post-run, Fort George Brewery beer will be served to those over 21, courtesy of Foot Traffic! You can park behind the store or on neighborhood streets. Three models of Hoka shoes will be available for demo: Clifton, Stinson, and Conquest.

Thursday, October 9th: Mizuno Rider 18 debut group run at our Downtown location @ 6 pm.
333 SW Taylor St, Portland 97204
Be one of the first to run in the some Mizuno Rider 18s at this group run. 3, 5, and 7 mile courses all available, followed by a celebration at the store with hosted New Belgium Brewery beer for those over 21 after run. You’ll find parking on the street or in a garage – but you’ll need to pay the meter – or you can take transit because the store is just blocks off the bus and Max lines. In addition to the Mizuno Rider 18, you can sample the Sayonara 2.
Wednesday, October 15th: Mizuno Rider 18 debut group (or is it an encore?) run at our Sellwood location @ 6 pm
7718 SE 13th Ave, Portland 97202
Before enjoying delicious Lompoc Brewery beer (if you’re 21+), join Foot Traffic and their freinds for a 4-6 mile course with all paces welcome. Park on neighborhood streets and choose between the Rider 18 and Sayonara 2 to try out.

Wednesday, October 22nd: Gore group run at our Sellwood location @ 6 pm
7718 SE 13th Ave, Portland 97202
Yes, Gore makes amazing running gear. Especially if your winter running plans include heading to the Gorge or Coast Range for some serious trail running. Again, Lompoc Brewery beer will be served to those of legal drinking age. In addition to checking out the new Gore gear, you can try out Brooks Ghost 7 GTX and Adrenaline ASR 11 GRX shoes.
Tuesday, October 28th: Mizuno Rider 18 group run at our North East Fremont location @ 6 pm
4020 NE Fremont, Portland, 97212
This run is 4-6 miles, all paces welcome; with Fort George Brewery beer for 21+ runners and walkers that want to hang out after the run. You can try on the Rider 18 and Sayonara 2.

Wednesday, October 29th: Sellwood Halloween Party/ Scavenger Run at our Sellwood location @ 6 pm
7718 SE 13th Ave, Portland 97202
Details are still forthcoming, but we’ll be sure to post the info as we get it. This is a fun theme run, where costumes are encouraged – as long as you can still put some reflective gear on for safety! And, as a bonus … “Multiple Northwest beers will be on tap,” says Fritz Fitzer of Foot Traffic.
About Kelly Barten (1152 Articles)
I started the Run Oregon blog in February 2007, because I felt like running in Oregon and SW Washington deserved more positive coverage. I also wanted to level the playing field so that small, non-profit races could compete with big events; and to support LOCAL race organizers. I'm a Creighton Bluejay (undergrad) and an Oregon Duck (Sports Marketing MBA), and I live in Tigard with my husband and two kids. My "real job" is working for an incredibly awesome math textbook company doing marketing and production.
