Discovery Run this Thursday in Tualatin

Discovery Run HeaderThe Discovery Run is a free group run/walk that is a mix of scavenger hunt, adventure run, and party. Hosted by Road Runner Sports Tualatin, at this month's run, they'll donate $1.00 to the Wounded Warrior Project for each person that shows up to play along. You can check in as early as 5:30p up until the run start at 6:30p. The run (or walk, whatever!) is an hour, followed by a party. There will be beer available for those 21+ with ID, and if you register (for $0) by noon on Thursday you'll get a voucher for a free beer. Extra beers, or those for the late-to-sign-up, are only $3 in the Widmer Beer Garden.

There is ample parking at the Nyberg Woods shopping center; be aware of crazy traffic going to the new Cabela’s store though.

Those with jog strollers and well-behaved, leashed dogs are invited as well; this is a family-friendly event. Don’t know anyone? Not a problem – just show up and introduce yourself. First name and running pace are usually good a good icebreaker.

About Kelly Barten (1150 Articles)
I started the Run Oregon blog in February 2007, because I felt like running in Oregon and SW Washington deserved more positive coverage. I also wanted to level the playing field so that small, non-profit races could compete with big events; and to support LOCAL race organizers. I'm a Creighton Bluejay (undergrad) and an Oregon Duck (Sports Marketing MBA), and I live in Tigard with my husband and two kids. My "real job" is working for an incredibly awesome math textbook company doing marketing and production.
