Race Preview: Mountain Trail Series Wilson River 50k 10/18/2014 (near Tillamook Forest Center, Oregon)
There are two races occurring with different start lines, but the same finish line. The Wilson River 50k as well as the 15 mile Elk-Kings Mountain Traverse. So, if you have friends that want to do a different distance, bring them along, too. The start location for the 50k is the Jones Creek day use area, which is near the Tillamook Forest Center. The finish line will be the Tillamook Forest Center, where 15 milers and 50k racers will be completing their races. According to race officials, the start line for the 15 miler is about 6 miles from the finish, and 15 milers will be shuttled to the start line from the Tillamook Forest Center.
There will be 6 full aid stations, with 4 stations where any crew you might have can access the aid station, too. Make sure to review the details of the course with regard to aid stations and crewing here. The course will have four excellent ascents and descents – check out the course map and elevation chart here.
At the finish line, there will be a post-race BBQ for participants, family and all the wonderful volunteers. Recognition will also be presented to the top three overall male and female finishers. These super-fast racers will receive awesome products from the Wilson River 50k race sponsors.
