Run Oregon Tunes: 2014 July and August Playlists

Even though I skipped out on July’s Run Oregon Tunes post, I figured late was better than never. We are now into September and let’s face it – your iPod music is getting a little stagnant. You can only listen to Kelly Clarkson and Ram Jam so many times, right?!

In July, I was pretty quiet on the racing front. I stroller-ed with my 4 year old at the Freedom 5k and tredged through the Fueled by Fine Wine Half.

In August, I raced quite a bit. I first tackled the MLK Dream Run 15k followed by the Culver Redneck Obstacle Run, Canby Dahlia Runs Half, and finally the Oregon Wine County Half Marathon. In fact, almost 50% of my monthly mileage came from racing alone. I didn’t do any themed playlists (though I’m sure I could have with almost all of them). Instead I just stuck to my August favorites.

There are some names you may remember on there, such as Alex Clare (The “I feel like I am just too close to love you” singer), the Gaslight Anthem, and Kimbra. There were some bands out there who were new to me that I took a shining too (Owl John, Wildcat!Wildcat! and Young Summer). This has become one of my favorite playlists to listen to even when not running. August has surely stood out this year.
