Free 3k XC returns to Nike World HQ on Wednesdays this August – great for the whole family

Nike’s XC series is returning this August – and it’s still free.

Put on by the Bowerman Track Club (previously called Bowerman Athletic Club), the free 3k XC series is returning this August. Though not specifically geared towards youth, the shorter distance and safe course – run completely on the protected trails and paths of the Nike campus in Beaverton – make it great for families. And the price: free.

The course is a loop, run twice, and if you have a younger child not ready for 3k you could run with them and drop after one lap.

Each week, the race starts a 6p. You can sign a waiver at the event starting around 5:30p each week; in past years they have posted it online but it’s not up quite yet.

Bowerman Track Club XC Series

When: Wednesdays: August 6, 13, 20, and 27, 2014

What time: Each weekly event starts at 6p

Where: Nike World Headquarters at SW Murray and SW Walker in Beaverton. Enter via the main gate on Walker; the building at the end of the drive is Tiger Woods. Park near there and walk around to the back of the building to find the festivities set up on Ronaldo Field.

Register: This is a free event, but you must sign a waiver, available DOR starting at around 5:30p.

About Author

We started the Run Oregon blog in February 2007, because felt like running in Oregon and SW Washington deserved more positive coverage. We also wanted to level the playing field so that small, non-profit races could compete with big events; and to support local race organizers.
