Race Preview: Cedar Creek Beach Challenge

The Cedar Creek Beach Challenge in Pacific City is an annual event held to benefit Cedar Creek Child Care Center & Preschool. There’s a 10K run, a 5K walk or run and a kids half mile. The most unique thing about this is event is it’s the only one around where you actually get to run on the beach. As you run be sure to watch for eagles, brown pelicans, seals and even whales.

The race begins and ends at the Pelican Pub and Brewery where after you finish you can turn in your ticket for a free beer or root beer. All finishers also receive a handmade medal.

This is a great race held for a wonderful cause. All funds go to support the only state certified early learning facility for children age 6 weeks up to 12 years in South Tillamook County.

Grab your family, your running shoes and head to the beach. There’s nothing like trying a new, unique event to benefit a great cause!
