Portland Marathon Clinic run for Saturday, July 19, 2014

PMTC-logo16 weeks – four months – have passed in the 2014 progression of Portland Marathon Clinic Runs, and this is when they start feeling long. But rather than plod through those miles on your own, join the PMC and run with a group of really great local runners! It doesn’t matter if you’re doing Portland, everyone is welcome to this amazing local running program.

We are blessed in the Pacific NW with beautiful, sunny days nearly all summer long (shhhhh … don’t tell anyone). What this also means is that we face a lot of sun and warm temps, especially if you’re running for three or more hours. Please be sure to bring ample water and refill those water bottles every opportunity you get.

By now you should be practicing your race day nutrition. You still have a few months to get it exactly right, so ask other runners what works for them and use all the information to find out what works for you. This run, from Lululemon Pearl District, is a beautiful run. After a beeline to the waterfront, you get a few miles of Willamette River views for an out and back. This means the last few miles are also along the water!

Here’s the rest of the schedule:

All runs are on Saturdays and start promptly at 8a, so be there by 7:45 at the very latest for instructions and to use the restroom before you start.  Click on the location for a Google map showing you where to go. For directions, click on “Get Directions” and enter your starting address.
