Kids Only! The Little Hopper Root Beer Run in Bend

We do a lot of previews about races for adults – but what about a race ONLY for kids? Check out the Little Hopper Root Beer Run, which is held in conjunction with the Bite of Bend on Saturday, June 28.

From their race website:

Kids between the ages of 3-10 will run one of three distances:
  • 100M dash (age 3–4)
  • 500M dash  (age 5-7)
  • 1500M run (age 8-10)

The course runs through downtown and Drake Park concluding with a refreshing and thirst-quenching root beer and ice cream finish. The start of each event will be at the courtyard in front of Bellataza Cafe on Wall Street, just adjacent to the Bite of Bend. Runners will run through the breezeway and complete a lollipop loop through Drake Park and back to a finish in front of Crow’s Feet Commons. The 1500m course will feature an additional root beer stop at the turn around of the course.

It’s like a (root) Beer run for kids! And just so you adults don’t feel left out, that weekend also includes the Pacific Crest Sports Festival and the Bite of Bend Beer Run on the 29th.

  • Noon:  100M (age 3-4)
  • 12:15 pm:  500M (age 5-7)
  • 12:30 pm:  1500M (age 8-10)
