Race Preview: Family Dogs Fun Walk and Run (5k) at Mt. Tabor

We love dogs here at Run Oregon. Our family dog, a Golden Retriver, at one point in her life enjoyed going on long runs. She now has a more relaxed existance (aside from a few hiking and camping trips each summer), but does like to get in a run in here and there. Perhaps the best idea to get her out and running again is at the Family Dogs Fun Walk and 5k Run on June  8 at Mt. Tabor.

Family Dogs New Life is a no-kill dog shelter devoted to rescuing needy dogs of all breeds, ages and backgrounds. Webelieve that all dogs deserve a second chance at a new life- It’s not about being perfect,
it’s about being perfect for one another.

This is their 5th year doing a walk, but their first incorporating a 5k. There will seperate starts for solo runners, runners with dogs, and walkers.

While it may be obvious, please be courteous and follow their guidelines for the race (current vaccinations, on a leash, clean up after your dog, friendly, etc). If you don’t have a dog, maybe consider stopping in and adopting one. Your new best friend awaits!

Check out their Facebook page. I HIGHLY recommend it, even if solely because of some of the amazing professional photos they have of their pups.
