Portland Marathon Clinic run for Saturday, May 31, 2014

PMTC-logoIt’s the 9th week of the Portland Marathon Clinic, and this week the crew is running 10, 12 and 14 mile routes for their preparation of the Portland Marathon (or other fall marathon).

This week’s run starts and ends at Main City Park in Gresham. Be sure to plan for ample time to get there and find parking, since the run will start on the Springwater Corridor Trail which is at the extreme southern end of the park. Every time I’ve gone to this run, I’m always surprised how much further it is than I thought!

There are restrooms at the park, and there will be water, but be sure to bring your own hydration and nutrition for the run.

All PMC runs except one – the Brunch Run – are free and open to all, no matter what you are training for. You’ll want to sign the waiver when you check in and then listen up for the right pace group. I always recommend layers, a hat and sunscreen; if you’re planning on being out there more than two hours, you’ll want to reapply!

Here’s the rest of the schedule:

All runs are on Saturdays and start promptly at 8a, so be there by 7:45 at the very latest for instructions and to use the restroom before you start.  Click on the location for a Google map showing you where to go. For directions, click on “Get Directions” and enter your starting address.
