In 2013, the event drew close to 500 participants, 160 of who were age 16 and younger! The race course runs on small town streets (closed to traffic for the safety of the runners) and multipurpose paths. The 5k has one water station about half way, the 10k has a station every two miles, while the half marathon will have four water stops. The start times are staggered with the half marathoners taking off first at 7:30am, followed by the 10k at 7:45am and the 5k at 7:55am. With start times this early, you can even squeeze in your run before any other scheduled activities you may have on that Sunday.
Post-race, participants can expect the typical refreshments of water, bananas and oranges, finisher’s medals for everybody, and age group awards. On each race bib there are also a meal ticket and a drink ticket, which can be redeemed for a plate of food by NoKaOi catering and a beer or non-alcoholic drink, respectively. Some vendors will also offer free samples of their consumable products (Jamba Juice, Jimmy John’s, Nothing Bundt Cakes, Muskle Milk, Panda Express) and displaying their products and services (Road Runner Sports, PRC, River City Boats, Mt Hood Search and Rescue).
