Race Preview: 2014 Hands On Superhero Dash in Salem
Tomorrow is Mother’s Day. I don’t know about you, but my mother is one of my heroes. The fact that she was able to put up with me and my brother is proof that she has superpowers.
Some other people who are unsung heroes, both in the running community and out, are volunteers. They are vital for making races go on. The Hands On Superhero Dash (10k/5k) in Salem on June 7, is a race to help support Hands On Willamette, the Willamette Valley’s “volunteer action center”. They are a volunteer action agency for Marion, Polk and Yamhill Counties and are responsible for assigning good people with causes that need volunteers.
The races (10k/5k) take place at Riverfront Park and will cross over into Wallace Marine Park via the Union Street Pedestrian Bridge. The event is (obviously) superhero themed and kids, dogs, and costumes are welcomed and highly encouraged.
