Run Oregon Tunes: 2014 April Playlist

april-run-oregon-playlist-2014I found April to be another underwhelming month for music. There were a few good albums/songs here and there, but I was hard pressed at the end of the month to find 9 that really stuck out as being “runnable”. What I ended up was some really good songs from some good albums (Manchester Orchestra, The Kooks),  a few “harder” songs by nu-metal rock artists of the previous decade (Chevelle, Saliva), and a couple good ones from the current pop scene (Augustana, Neon Trees, NEEDTOBREATHE).

I ran two races in April – the Bridge to Brews 10k and the Capital City Half Marathon. If you missed it, I created a “Bridge” playlist for the Bridge to Brews race and loved it. I was also able to do some personal runs alongside major rivers in Roseburg (Umpqua), Grants Pass (Rogue), and Bend (Deschutes). I even ran the Misery Ridge Trail (and a few others) at Smith Rock State Park.

Did I miss anything in April?
