Smith Rock Ascent offers “Doubler” Prizes for runners completing back-to-back 50k and Half Marathon

SmithRock_LogoA new race on the calendar this year is the Smith Rock Ascent Road Races, taking place on June 15, 2014 at Smith Rock State Park. Put on my Run Oregon's dear friends at Go Beyond Racing, this two day race offers trail races on Saturday the 14th, while Sunday's line-up is all on roads. Last year, they just offered the trail runs; the road races are brand-new this year. The Smith Rock Ascent Trail Runs include a 50k, a 15-Miler, a 4-Miler and a Kids Race on Saturday. The 50k is $85, the 15-Miler is $65, the 4-MIler is 35, and the Kids Race is free. The Smith Rock Ascent Road Runs include a Half Marathon, 10k and a 5k. The prices are $50, $40, and $25, respectively.

Patagonia tech shirts available for $30 for all runners, but if you complete the 50k and the Half Marathon, you’re in for a treat. You’ll earn a special shirt thanks to Fleet Feet Bend’s inspiration to reward those for whom 31 miles in a weekend isn’t enough. As a race sponsor, Fleet Feet is hosting packet pick-up for the Road Races and providing shoes and shirts as prizes.

The details:

When: The Trail Races are Saturday, June 14 and the Road Races are Sunday, June 15

What time:  The Trail Races on Saturday start with the 4-Miler at 7:45a, then the 50k at 8a, and the 15-Miler at 8a. The Kids Race is at 10:30a. On Sunday, the Half starts at 7a and the 10k and 5k are at 7:05a.

About Kelly Barten (1149 Articles)
I started the Run Oregon blog in February 2007, because I felt like running in Oregon and SW Washington deserved more positive coverage. I also wanted to level the playing field so that small, non-profit races could compete with big events; and to support LOCAL race organizers. I'm a Creighton Bluejay (undergrad) and an Oregon Duck (Sports Marketing MBA), and I live in Tigard with my husband and two kids. My "real job" is working for an incredibly awesome math textbook company doing marketing and production.
