The Fire Dash is a new take on the obstacle course race! Designed by firefighters, this course promises to have plenty of mud, smoke, AND fire as you take on firefighting-inspired obstacles such as “Ladder Rescue,” “Get Hosed.” and “Search and Rescue”. The event is untimed and teamwork is strongly encouraged, but there is a prize for the fastest runner from each heat: a Fire Dash “Bulldog Chain.”
While the registration fees are pretty high, each event benefits the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation, and also a local charity for firefighters (the Portland Fire Dash benefits the Portland Firefighters Association). Registration includes a t-shirt (men’s and women’s!), and a beer for those 21+; VIP registration adds on a hat, a sweatshirt, VIP check in, a spot at the front of your chosen heat, and other gifts from Fire Dash sponsors.
If you’re not in the Portland area, this event will also be held in Seattle (8/16/14), Houston, LA and Las Vegas (dates TBD).
