Race Preview: Cinco de Mayo 5
The Centro Latino Americano organization brings services and goods to children and families, provides employment search assistance, and interpreting services to the Latino population of the greater Eugene, Oregon area. Racing for a cause, in my estimation, is one of the top reasons to run and this is a cause that stays local and helps locally.
The race will start at 9 a.m. at the Valley River Center, adjacent to El Torito. Both race courses seem to mirror each other pretty closely and take racers over the Delta Highway and uses the bike path sections in the Delta Wetlands. This race looks very family friendly and I love a course that doesn’t intersect with too much traffic. The race will start and end at El Torito and be chip timed by Eclectic Edge Racing.
Entry fees are as follows: $20 – adults, $15 for youth (17 & under) and seniors (60 & over). Technical event shirts can be purchased for an additional $10. Shirts are only guaranteed if ordered by April 26. Add $5 to entry fees on race day. You can download a registration form here.
