If you are one of the lucky ones running the Hop Hop Races coming up soon, check out he important updates for this race. If you have not registered, I believe there is still time, and this is a race that should not be missed! Unique and beautiful course, well spaced water/aid stations, mini expo and activities and a brunch like refreshments with Mimosa for those over 21!

Updates:

  • Two wave start for the half marathon.
  • Extra parking lot and other parking instructions.
  • Extra hour on Thursday’sApril 17th packet pick up (for those of you who get off late!)

To ease congestion at the start of the HALF MARATHON ONLY, we will be splitting the start into two waves.

Wave 1: 10 minute per mile and under
Wave 2: 10 minute per mile and over

FAQs:
Q: What if I want to start with my friend and we are in different waves?
A: We strongly encourage you to stay within your wave for the sake of everyone, but if you are within 30 seconds minute per mile, it shouldn’t be a problem.

Q: How do we know what wave we’re in?
A: We will separate participants before the race. There will be two staging areas/corals with large signs for the two waves. About 15 minutes before the start of the HALF we will begin to direct you your ESTIMATED pace.

Q: I’m not sure what my pace is right now. Is that a problem?
A: Nope! We know that most of you will be estimating and that you may change your mind at the last minute. T is an estimate for most of you. The point is to divide the field just enough to spread things out just a little bit more at the start line.

Q: Do I need to do anything right now to prepare?
A: Other than thinking about what pace you might be, you might also consider testing mimosas, getting a massage, shopping at Foot Traffic, giving your dog a bath, or spending more time with loved ones!

ARRIVING & PARKING:
There are two super-convenient ways to arrive to the race. Marine Drive to NE 33rd (easy access from both I-5 and I-205) or NE Columbia Blvd to NE 33rd (easy access from both I-5 and I-205).

LOT #1 will be filled on a first come, first-served basis. After which point, all other participants will be directed to the neighboring LOT #2 just to the west of the start line.

DEPARTING:
*We will have volunteers directing you so this is just to prevent surprises when you’re trying to leave!

b.) Participants in LOT #2 will only be allowed to exit SOUTH on Sunderland and then SOUTH on NE 33rd to protect finishing participants. However, DON’T WORRY! Columbia Blvd can take you to wherever you need to go!
