The original and most epic urban adventure run, First Thursday, is back starting March 6th for the first of seven “First Thursdays of the Month” of 2014. Hosted by Fit Right, First Thursday has been a must-run for the past few years and has grown to host upwards of 350 participants in an average month.

Most important to note is that the free group run/walk will be held at a new location: An empty parking lot at NW 20th and NW Raleigh. Parking will also be available this year in the lot, but only in yellow lined spaces.
Here are the vitals:
When: Thursday, March 6, 2014
What time: The run starts at 6p, but we suggest you arrive by 5:45 to check in
Where: NW 20th and NW Raleigh
Register: Just check in and sign the waiver when you arrive – this is a free event
Bring: Your smartphone or digital camera to take a picture of the map; or if you’re old school you can use a pen and paper; your ID for post-run beverages, and warm clothes to put on after the run during the raffle
For March, you can test-run in a pair of Skora shoes or shoes from On, which Matt recently reviewed here (if you get there early enough).
Here’s something else cool: Wear a past year’s Cascade Lakes Relay shirt and you’ll be eligible for a special raffle – visit their tent at First Thursday for details. Other sponsors include Freshii (yum), Tri Team PDX, Hyatt Training, North Lake Physical Therapy, the Portland Rock ‘n’ Roll Half Marathon, Animal Athletics and more.
Now for the good stuff:
The March beer sponsor is Worthy Brewing, from Bend – so that’s awesome. And oh yeah, it’s free to participants, but only if you’re 21+ and bring your ID!
You can get the 2014 First Thursday VIP shirt starting March 1, 2014 at either Fit Right Location. Wear it to the run and you get three extra raffle tickets each month, plus access to the VIP Express Beer Line. Worth it.
