Les Schwab’s Hood to Coast Race Series presents their always popular Pints to Pasta 10k walk/run, with the addition of a half marathon. The race is set for Sunday, September 13 with the half starting at 7:30a.m. and the 10k starting at 8a.m. If you hurry now, you can still register for both races before prices are set to increase on August 24.
Pints to Pasta is generally known for their fast start, and this year will be no different. 10k runners will start at Greeley Avenue heading towards the Albina neighborhood, passing by the famous Widmer Brothers Brewery. Racers will then be treated to beautiful views of the Willamette River while crossing over the Broadway Bridge. The course continues through scenic downtown Portland, ultimately finishing at the Old Spaghetti Factory. Half Marathoners will start and finish at the Old Spaghetti Factory, utilizing the 10k course in its entirety. You can download a high resolution PDF of the 10k and half marathon course map here.
After crossing the finish line, racers will be treated to the post race extravaganza which takes place on the banks of the Willamette River, adjacent to the Old Spaghetti Factory. The extravaganza includes a complimentary meal provided by the Old Spaghetti Factory as well as live entertainment and a beer garden featuring delicious Widmer craft beer for those over 21 years old (ID required). Awards will be given to the top 3 male and female finishers as well as the top 3 of each age category. You can also choose to dress as your favorite Italian character, athlete, actor or artist with the best costume receiving a prize. Finishers medals and tech shirts will be given to all race participants.
Parking will be made available just south of the Old Spaghetti Factory for all racers. Police and parking volunteers will direct you where to go. Those running the 10k race will be able to catch a shuttle bus which will take you to the 10k start line. The first bus will leave at approximately 6a.m. and the last bus is scheduled to leave at approximately 7:00a.m. Half marathon participants can expect a 5 minute walk from the designated parking area to the half marathon start line. Please note that there will be no parking at the Old Spaghetti Factory or at the 10k start line.
Packet pick-up prior to race day thus far is TBD, however there is packet pick up on race day at the Old Spaghetti Factory starting at 5:45a.m. 10k participants must have their packet prior to loading the shuttle bus as there is no packet pick up at the 10k start line.
